Our dental team provide a variety of services from general dental care, cosmetic dentistry, prosthodontics, orthodontics, surgical procedures and implant therapy.

Dr. Amr Ashmawy

Originally from Egypt, Dr Ashmawy graduated with a distinction in Dentistry in 2000. Since then, he has worked in both public and private sectors, and has also held teaching positions coaching undergraduate students, which has kept him at the cutting edge of dentistry – from preventative work to more complex procedures.

Dr Ashmawy moved to Australia with his wife and twin sons in 2010, residing in Melbourne where he has worked in public and private dental practices. He believes, if he wouldn’t recommend a procedure to a member of his own family, he would never recommend it to his patients. He prides himself on his high quality detailed work.
In his spare time, Dr Ashmawy loves swimming, bike riding and spending time with his family and friends.

Dr. Alice Chen

Dr Alice graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Dentistry and Master of Dentistry. She has worked in both public and private dental clinics across regional and inner suburban Victoria, before starting at Gardens Dental.
Alice enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and takes pride in providing high quality care in gentle and calm manner. Patient care and comfort is of her top priorities and she prefers to spend time to know her patients before recommending any treatment.
Outside dentistry, Alice enjoys all things food related, whether it’s cooking and sharing a meal with her family and friends or dining at one of Melbourne’s many restaurants.

Dr. Maysa Shahien

Dr Maysa Shahien graduated with her Bachelor of Dental and Medicine Science from Cairo University in 1977. Shortly after, Maysa immigrated to Australia where she subsequently completed a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Melbourne in 1989.
Maysa worked in both public and private practices for the past 29 years and that gave her a significant experience and passion in delivering a high standard of care to all members of the Gardens Dental Family.
